Class Offerings
Acro
Ages 6-9 : 30 Minutes
Ages 10 & Up : 60 Minutes
This class is based on the combination of gymnastic skills, contortion, and dance. Warm up consists of core work, strength, and toning exercises. Beginners learn basic gymnastics skills that are further developed as they advance. Once students master a skill they will then move on to more difficult level of tumbling. Flexibility skills will be taught and routinely gone over until each individual student has mastered each skill.

Attire: Female students should wear a black leotard with tan stirrup tights. Tan jazz shoes are optional, bare feet are used the majority of the time. Male students should wear a solid colored t-shirt and black jazz pants. Gentlemen are asked to wear proper supportive garments. Black jazz shoes are optional, bare feet are used the majority of the time.
Combo
Ages 3-4 45 Minutes
This class is designed for beginning dancers’ ages 3 to 4 years old. It combines the basic skills of ballet and tap into one fun filled and creative class for the beginner level dancer. This class will only perform once in the recital while enjoying the benefits of learning two dance forms at the novice level. This class is a very popular option to introduce children to 2 genres of dance at a low cost and single time commitment.
Attire: Girls should wear a pink leotard with pink tights. Pink leather ballet shoes with elastic strap must be worn for the ballet portions of class. Black patent leather buckle tap shoes are used for the tap portion of class. Boys should wear black dance pants and a white t-shirt with black leather ballet shoes & black lace up tap shoes.
Hip Hop
Ages 5 & Up 30 Minutes
This class is a fun and high energy form of dance that requires little formal dance training. Students will learn a variety of hip hop styles through choreography and combinations. Hip Hop helps to develop coordination and rhythm for any level of dancer. It is s freestyle form of dance that is not based on a set curriculum like most other dance forms.

Attire: Female students please wear black leotards with tan tights. Black jazz pants may be worn as well as shorts. All Hip Hop students should all wear black dance sneakers. Gentlemen should wear black jazz pants and a solid colored t-shirt.
Mini-Me Creative Movement
Ages 18mo - 2.5y 45 Minutes
This is the BDA version of "Mommy & Me". This class introduces children to dance through music and creative movement with the assistance of an adult. Classes utilize fun games for children to assist in exploring body movement and rhythm.
Class meets for a single six week session with three sessions offered throughout the year.
Attire: Girls should wear a pink leotard with pink tights and pink leather ballet shoes with elastic straps.Boys should wear black dance pants and a white t-shirt with black leather ballet shoes. Adults should dress comfortably and will be in their bare feet or socks.
Tap
Ages 3 & Up 30 Minutes
This class teaches rhythm and coordination through sound. The importance of musicality is highly stressed in this class. Basic sounds will be developed in the beginner level classes and will be further developed for the advanced dancer. Every class will learn progressions across the floor as well as center exercises to help train the ear and body to learn the difference in the tap sounds.

Attire: Girls please wear a pink or black leotard with pink or tan tights. Black patent leather buckle tap shoes are used for levels I and II. Tan leather U-Shell tap shoes are used for levels III & IV. Ladies should wear a black leotard with tan tights. Level V and higher use black Bloch lace-up tap shoes. Black dance pants may be worn in intermediate/advanced levels of tap. Gentlemen should wear black dance pants and a white t-shirt. Gentlemen are asked to wear proper supportive garments. Black Bloch lace-up tap shoes are used for all males unless choreography demands a different shoe.
Ballet
Ages 3-8 30 Minutes
Ages 9 & Up 60 Minutes
This class focuses on the terminology, discipline, and foundation of classical ballet technique. This class will consist of structured barre exercises to learn correct alignment, posture, and balance as well as to gain the proper terminology used in class. Center work includes petite allegro, adagio, grande allegro, and reverence. All dancers will learn to turn, jump, and leap progressing through each level.
Attire: Girls should wear a pink leotard with pink tights. Pink leather ballet shoes with elastic strap must be worn until dancers reach level IV. Skirts are optional, but may be removed for proper alignment. Ladies should wear a black leotard with pink tights. Pink canvas ballet shoes with double elastic straps must be worn. Skirts are optional. Gentlemen should wear black dance pants/tights with a white form-fitting shirt. Gentlemen are asked to wear proper supportive garments. Black ballet leather shoes and socks must be worn through level III and canvas shoes after level IV.
Conditioning
Ages 8 & Up 30 Minutes
Non-Recital Class
This class is strongly encouraged for gaining flexibility, strength, and endurance. Warm up consists of core work, strength and toning exercises, and cardiovascular stamina. This is a non-recital class and is solely based on improving a dancers overall control and muscle tone.

Attire: Female students please wear any color leotard and tights with jazz, hip hop shoes, or bare feet. Male students should wear black jazz pants with a solid colored t-shirt and jazz, hip hop shoes, or bare feet.
Jazz
Ages 5-8 30 Minutes
Ages 9 & Up 60 Minutes
This class incorporates various turns, jumps, and leaps that give the dancer a variety of skills that can be utilized in many jazz styles. Warm up preparation focuses on stretching, flexibility, conditioning, and toning of the body. Progressions across the floor and combinations are the foundation of jazz technique.

Attire: Girls please wear black leotards with tan tights. Black jazz pants may be worn as well as BDA shorts. Jazz I - III should wear tan lace up jazz shoes unless choreography/costumes demands otherwise. Ladies should wear black leotards with tan tights. Black jazz pants or BDA shorts may be worn. Jazz levels IV and up wear tan pull on jazz shoes depending on the costume/choreography. Gentlemen should wear black jazz pants and a solid colored t-shirt. Gentlemen are asked to wear proper supportive garments. Back pull on jazz shoes and socks should be worn for all levels.
Modern
Ages 8 & Up 60 Minutes
This class is utilizes each students strengths and works on their weaknesses. Modern is a more physical expressive form of dance. As part of this class, students will learn anatomy and physiology of the body. Some aspects of this class include but are not limited to inversions, floor work, partnering, and dancing to the extremes.

Attire: Female students should wear a black leotard with tan or black stirrup tights. BDA shorts and jazz pants are optional. Pirouette shoes should be worn to protect your feet. Males should wear a solid colored shirt with black pants. Dance half soles should be worn as well to protect the feet.
Ballet - Intensive
Ages 10 & Up 90 Minutes

This class examines all of the curriculum of our regular ballet class, but in an lengthened, intensive format. This class is for students desiring more intense ballet training and can be optionally paired with a 60 minute Ballet class.

Attire: Girls should wear a pink leotard with pink tights. Pink leather ballet shoes with elastic strap must be worn until dancers reach level IV. Skirts are optional, but may be removed for proper alignment. Ladies should wear a black leotard with pink tights. Pink canvas ballet shoes with double elastic straps must be worn. Skirts are optional. Gentlemen should wear black dance pants/tights with a white form-fitting shirt. Gentlemen are asked to wear proper supportive garments. Black ballet leather shoes and socks must be worn through level III and canvas shoes after level IV.
Contortion & Flexibility
Ages 8 & Up 30 Minutes
Non-Recital Class
This class is for students interested in contortion or improving their active flexibility. The class focuses on building strength and range of motion in the hips, back, and shoulders to prepare students for contortion or improve their lines in all dance disciplines. Students will learn useful strength drills and stretches.
Attire: Female students should wear a black leotard with tan stirrup tights. Bare feet are used the majority of the time. Male students should wear a solid colored t-shirt and black jazz pants. Gentlemen are asked to wear proper supportive garments and will be bare foot.
Leaps & Turns
Ages 10 & Up 30 Minutes
Non-Recital Class
Leaps and Turns Class is a technique class designed to assist students in focusing on the leaps, jumps and turns that dancers perform in various dance forms. Students will focus on the skills and strength needed to clean up and improve their leap/turn technique. Strength and flexibility are benefits of Leaps and Turns that will assist all levels of dancers for many different genres.

Attire: Female students should wear a black leotard with tan stirrup tights. Dance pirouettes shoes should be worn for all ages. Skirts, jazz pants, and BDA shorts are all optional. Male students should wear black jazz pants with a solid colored t-shirt. Dance half soles should be worn for all levels.
Musical Theater
Ages 6 & Up 30 Minutes
This class is designed for the dancer that desires to perform. Joining acting skills and dance together allows for a high energy, fun filled class that will help any triple threat dancer further their career. Warm-up consists of core strengthening and combinations across the floor. Performance skills and stage presence are key aspects that are incorporated into the class.

Attire: Girls please wear black leotards with tan tights and tan pedinis shoes. A skirt, black jazz pants may be worn as well as BDA shorts. Ladies should wear black leotards with tan tights and tan character shoes. A skirt, black jazz pants or BDA shorts may be worn. Gentlemen should wear black jazz pants and a solid colored t-shirt. Gentlemen are asked to wear proper supportive garments. Back pull on jazz shoes and socks should be worn for all levels.
Clogging
Ages 8 & Up 30 Minutes

Using the rhythm of the music, a clogger dances on the heel of the tap shoe more than a traditional tap dancer. Dancers will learn the basic clog and partner steps. Dancers may wish to invest in a clogging tap shoe which consists of a jingle tap, however, the jingle tap is optional.
Attire: Girls please wear a pink or black leotard with pink or tan tights. Ladies should wear a black leotard with tan tights.Gentlemen should wear black dance pants and a white t-shirt. Gentlemen are asked to wear proper supportive garments. Clogging shoes are used for all levels.
Feet & Legs
Ages 10 & Up 30 Minutes
Non-Recital Class
Although dance training on its own strengthens the body, it doesn't necessarily target every muscle needed to maintain ideal placement and minimize the risk of injury. This class will focus on the exercises you need to improve your technique, pointe, muscle tone and protect yourself from injuries. This class with give your entire body a workout while concentrating on making your feet and legs the strongest and most flexible they can be.

Attire: Female students should wear a black leotard with tan stirrup tights. Bare feet are used the majority of the time. Male students should wear a solid colored t-shirt and black jazz pants. Gentlemen are asked to wear proper supportive garments and will be bare foot.
Lyrical
Ages 8 & Up 60 Minutes
This class combines the skills learned in ballet & jazz classes. Lyrical is an extremely expressive form of dance that allows students to further their musicality while dancing. This class begins with a warm-up based upon ballet & jazz principle. It continues with across the floor combinations that challenge the dancers to move beyond their boundaries. Center exercises are used to help each dancer advance through each level.
Attire: Female students should wear a black leotard with tan stirrup tights. Dance pirouettes shoes should be worn for all levels. Skirts, jazz pants, and BDA shorts are all optional. Male students should wear black jazz pants with a solid colored t-shirt. Dance half soles should be worn for all levels.
Pointe
Ages 9 & Up 60-90 Minutes
Students who are interested in furthering their Ballet training and that have developed enough strength and control are encouraged to begin Pointe technique. This class focuses on balance, strengthening of the legs and ankles, and the artistry of Pointe work. Beginners learn a series of barre exercises to learn balance and control. Only after the dancer has become extremely controlled at the barre, will they begin center work. Advanced level students will further their training to include advanced adagio’s and choreography work.
Attire: Ladies should wear a black leotard with pink tights. Pink satin pointe shoes must be worn and fitted by a BDA instructor. Pink canvas ballet shoe with double elastic straps are also required for this class.
